I decided to hang out my shingle and start my own business, Wolf’s-Head Craftsman, in early 2023 with my girlfriend’s relentless encouragement and the exciting turn of events that she and I managed to buy a house together with a big enough garage I could convert into a small wood working shop. My path towards self-employment was anything but direct, winding its way through 10+ years of log home repair and restoration, several winters working in a wood slab furniture shop, a two-semester program through Lake Superior College in Duluth, MN to learn more about conventional carpentry, 6 months working full time as a residential carpenter, and numerous small building projects and repairs for acquaintances, family, and friends.
Ever since I was young, I have always had a vivid imagination, a knack for problem solving, an eye for design and detail, and both an appreciation for and fascination with high quality craftsmanship. It is my hope to bring all of these different elements together, along with my decade plus of hands-on woodworking and construction experience, to work with you to build or renovate your own inspiring living or workspace, or to help fill the space with long lasting, high quality handmade furniture, cabinets, shelving, and built in storage.
